Testing of Long-term Storage of UV Curable Coating Based on Acrylates

Abstract:

V rámci bakalářské práce byla testována stabilita UV vytvrditelného laku na akrylátové bázi při dlouhodobém skladování. Během skladování může docházet k nežádoucím reakcím mezi jednotlivými složkami a tudíž k vytvrzování laku, které může negativně ovlivnit následné zpracování a užitné vlastnosti laku. Teoretická část poskytuje ucelený přehled o UV lacích zejména na akrylátové bázi, jejich mechanismus vytvrzování, aplikace a použití a v neposlední řadě popis jednotlivých složek a jejich stability z hlediska dlouhodobého skladování. V praktické části byla testována UV stabilita UV vytvrditelného laku na akry-látové bázi při dlouhodobém skladování při standardní teplotě 25°C a zvýšené teplotě 50°C pomocí UV-DSC a FTIR, které poskytují základní informace o stabilitě laku. Ze získaných výsledků, je patrné, že námi testovaný lak nepodléhá nežádoucím reakcím a je stabilní v daném časovém úseku.

Abstract:

In the bachelor thesis the stability of UV curable lacquer on acrylate base was tested during long-term storage. Undesirable reactions between the components are possible and they can occur the curing of lacquer, which can adversely affect subsequent processing and lacquer performance during the storage. The theoretical part provides a comprehensive overview of UV lacquers especially on acrylate base, their cure mechanism, application and use and last but not least description of individual components and their stability in terms of long-term storage. In the practical part, the UV stability of an UV-curable acrylic-based lacquer was tested for long-term storage at a standard temperature of 25 ° C and an elevated temperature of 50 ° C using UV-DSC and FTIR, which provide basic information on the stability of the coating. From the results obtained, it is obvious that the tested lacquer by us is not subject to undesirable reactions and is stable over a given period of time.
