Anotácia:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá interpretacemi povídek Edgara Allana Poea, které vznikly ve 20. a 21. století. Povídky, které se v práci objeví, se jmenují "The Tell-Tale Heart", "The Black Cat" a "The Fall of the House of Usher". Práce se zaměřuje na články a eseje napsané ve 20. a 21. století, které tyto povídky rozebírají. Součástí jsou i seriál a filmy založené na zmíněných povídkách. Účelem této bakalářské práce je zjistit, zda se interpretace povídek a také filmové a seriálové adaptace časem změnily.

Abstract:

This thesis examines different critical approaches to Edgar Allan Poe's short horror stories, namely "The Tell-Tale Heart", "The Black Cat" and "The Fall of the House of Usher". The thesis focuses on essays and articles that were written about Poe's tales in the 20th and 21st century. Furthermore, films based on Poe's horror stories, including a Netflix series, will be mentioned. The aim of the thesis is to determine whether the analyses and adaptations of Poe's tales have changed over the centuries.
