Building the Communist regime in the USSR in terms of the theories of totalitarianism.

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce bude zjistit, zda sovětský komunistický režim, vzniklý z revoluce v roce 1917, byl od začátku budován za účelem vytvoření totalitního perzekučního systému anebo zda se v tuto formu přetransformoval až v důsledku budoucího vývoje událostí. Dále nás bude zajímat, zda další forma tohoto režimu, tedy stalinismus, byla kvalitativně něčím úplně novým anebo se jednalo o pouhé kvantitativní rozšíření praxe sovětského režimu. V této práci se pokusíme najít důvod proměn původně proklamovaného utopického režimu v takto brutální režim a zda je jeho původ už v samotné teorii marxismu - leninismu. Vzhledem k tomu, že se různí názory, na co se dá označit za totalitní režim, tak se nabízí otázka, zdali byl bolševický režim od počátku totalitní, nebo se totalitním stal až ve vrcholném období stalinského teroru. Cílem práce je tedy mimo jiné ověřit tyto teorie na konkrétním historickém příkladu.

Abstract:

The goal of this diploma thesis is to find out if the soviet communistic regime, originated in revolution in year 1917, was from the beginning built for a purpose of creating a totalitarian persecution system. Or did the regime transformed into this form, because of future development of events. Our next concern will be the next form of this regime - Stalinism. Was Stalinism something qualitatively new, or was is just quantitative extension of practice of soviet regime. In this thesis we will try to find reason for transformations of this originally proclaimed utopian regime into that kind of brutal regime. Also, we will try to find out if the origin of this transformation lies in the theory of Marxism-Leninism itself. Considering that there are many opinions on what could be labeled as totalitarian regime, the question, if Bolshevik regime was totalitarian from the beginning, or became totalitarian at the highest peak of Stalinism, arise. The goal of this thesis is also to verify these theories on specific historic example.
