The complex restauration of the architectural drawing on paper support of the Mill Collonade in Karlovy Vary from the National technical Museum in Prague

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá komplexním restaurováním architektonického kolorovaného výkresu Mlýnské kolonády na kartónu, jejíž autorství je připisováno českému architektovi Josefu Zítkovi. Před započetím veškerých restaurátorských procesů byl v rámci neinvazivního průzkumu popsán kulturně-historický vznik a vývoj díla v rámci let, včetně dopadu na dosavadní havarijní stav. Zejména je práce zaměřena na problematiku restaurování děl na papírové podložce větších formátů s citlivou barevnou vrstvou, u kterých nelze provést běžné postupy restaurátorských zásahů a je tak potřeba veškeré procesy přizpůsobit konkrétnímu restaurovanému dílu.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with a complete restoration and treatment of an architectural drawing on cardboard of Mill Colonnade created by the Czech architect Josef Zítek. Before all restoration treatments this document was described non-invasive research which covers the cultural and historical origin and development over the years and its impact on the current preserved condition of this artwork. This document especially deals with the matters of restoration of artwork on a paper support of larger format with a sensitive colour layer, which can be problematic for an ordinary restoration process, and it is necessary to be adaptive with all interventions of an objects restoration.
