Hlavním cílem práce je seznámit čtenáře s chápáním těla poutníka v X. – XIV. století a jeho vizuálními změnami vázanými na rituál poutě. V první části práce je charakterizována postava poutníka skrze rozbor výrazů, které se používají pro jeho pojmenování. Poutník je charakterizován také skrze své společenské a kulturní předobrazy. The main aim of the work is to introduce the reader to the understanding of the pilgrim's body in the 10th-14th centuries and to the visual changes of the pilgrim's body related to the ritual of pilgrimage.
