International trade relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey: Effect of Southern Gas Corridor

Mezinárodní obchodní vztahy mezi Ázerbájdžánem a Tureckem: Dopad jižního plynového koridoru

Abstract:

Ázerbájdžán, který je jedním ze států, které získaly nezávislost po rozpadu Sovětského svazu, má ve své zahraniční politice hlavní cíl vybudovat a rozvíjet bilaterální vztahy se sousedními zeměmi. Ázerbájdžán se zaměřuje zejména na vzájemné vztahy s Tureckem, se kterým má historické a kulturní vazby.Tato práce analyzuje vztahy mezi Ázerbájdžánem a Tureckem v oblasti investic a ve vzájemném obchodu a obchodní spolupráci a objem vzájemného obchodu a investičních vztahů mezi dvěma zeměmi od začátku 20. století do dneška. Kromě toho byl zkoumán dopad jižního koridoru pro zemní plyn na ekonomiky a strategické a politické vztahy Ázerbájdžánu a Turecka. Výsledkem práce je konstatování, že uvedený koridor má nezpochybnitelné pozitivní dopady do všech oblastí vztahů mezi těmito zeměmi.

Abstract:

Azerbaijan which is one of the states that gained its independence after collapse of the Soviet Union, focused to build and develop bilateral relations with neighbor countries as a main goal of foreign policy. Azerbaijan mainly focused to develop these bilateral relations with Turkey which has historically and culturally roots.This thesis analyzes relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey in particular and mutual investment areas, shows the volume of mutual trade and commercial collaboration, and the amount of mutual trade and investment relations between the two countries from the starting of 20th century until today. Furthermore, effect of the South Gas Corridor to Azerbaijan and Turkey were examined by comparing the impact of project on their economic, strategic and political relations. As a result of this thesis, South Gas Corridor project has undeniable positive sides which effect to economic, strategic and political relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey.
