The thesis is devoted to the study of radial basis functions and their application to two problems of theory of approximation. Práce se věnuje problematice radiálních bázových funkcí a jejich aplikaci na dvojici problému z oblasti matematické aproximace. V první části práce je podán podrobný popis a úvod do problematiky, na který navazuje studium interpolační úlohy.
