Media reflection of the Czech nation after the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich in Lidove noviny and in magazine Vlajka

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá mediální reflexí českého národa po atentátu na Reinharda Heydricha ve vybraných textech, které vyšly na stránkách Lidových novin a časopisu Vlajka v období od 28. května 1942 do 28. června 1942. Hlavním cílem práce je popsání mediálního obrazu českého národa v souvislosti s atentátem na Reinharda Heydricha a způsobů, jakým byl obraz tvořen. Práce využívá metodu diskursivní analýzy navrženou Jamesem Paulem Geem, doplněnou o modi operandi Johna B. Thompsona. Při analýze a interpretaci jednotlivých textu využije také naratologicko-motivickou analýzu. Práce je rozdělená do čtyř hlavních částí. V první části se zabývá společensko-historickým kontextem. Ve druhé části jsou vysvětleny teoretické podklady, na kterých je následně vybudována metodologie. Ve třetí části je vyložena použitá metoda, stanoveny výzkumné otázky a následně je uvedena konstrukce výběrového vzorku. Čtvrtá část je již zaměřena na aplikaci diskursivní analýzy na vybrané texty.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with media reflection of the Czech nation after the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich as presented in the articles that were published in the newspaper Lidove noviny and in the magazine Vlajka from 28th May 1942 till 28th June 1942. Our aim is to identify and describe media image of the Czech nation after the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich. The aim is achieved by using discourse analysis defined by Paul James Gee. In thesis is also used theory modi operandi defined by John B. Thompson, who dedicated his research to the seven levels of creation of meaning in text, and narrative and motivic analysis. The thesis will be divided into four main parts. The first part will explain socio-historical context. In the second part will explain the theoretical foundation for the methodology of research. The next part will contain explanation of method, set research goals and elaborate on how was chosen research sample. The last part of thesis will contain the actual analysis.
