Sociopolitical Impacts of the European Engagement in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia

Abstract:

Using the theory of neoliberal institutionalism analyses this thesis a cooperation of European intergovernmental organisations, concretely of the European Union, the OSCE and the Council of Europe, with the government of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia since 2001, as the year of a signature of the Ohrid Framework Agreement, as well as sociopolitical impacts of this cooperation on the macedonian society. This thesis is divided into seven chapters. The first introductory one is followed by the second and the third, which provide fundamental informations about the macedonian conflict of 2001, its actors and the Ohrid Framework Agreement, as the instrument of its settlement. The research questions of this thesis are answered in the next three chapters, which deal with the implementation of the Ohrid Framework Agreement, its sociopolitical impacts and lastly with Europeanisation of the fYROM. The final concluding chapter summarises the whole thesis and on one place gives answers on all research questions.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca analyzuje za použitia teórie neoliberálneho inštitucionalizmu jednak spoluprácu európskych medzivládnych organizácií, konkrétne EÚ, OBSE a RE, s macedónskou vládou, ako aj sociálno-politické dopady tejto spolupráce na macedónsku spoločnosť. Zameriava sa pri tom na obdobie od roku 2001, kedy došlo k podpisu Rámcovej dohody z Ohridu, až do súčasnosti. V záujme naplnenia hlavného cieľa je práca zložená zo siedmich kapitol. Po prvej úvodnej kapitole nasledujú druhá a tretia, ktoré poskytujú základné informácie o macedónskom konflikte z roku 2001, jeho aktéroch a nástroji jeho riešenia, ktorým bola Rámcová dohoda z Ohridu. Ďalšie tri kapitoly poskytujú odpovede na výskumné otázky tejto práce, keď analyzujú implementáciu dohody, jej sociálno-politické dopady a napokon proces europanizácie Bývalej juhoslovanskej republiky Macedónsko. Záverečná siedma kapitola sumarizuje celú prácu a podáva na jednom mieste odpovede na výskumné otázky.
