Effect of density and spacing of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) during planting on the subsequent morphological quality of the aboveground part

Abstract:

Tématem diplomové práce bylo zjištění morfologické kvality borovice lesní při různé hustotě, sponu a typu sadebního materiálu. Zkusné plochy byly zalesněny krytokořenným a prostokořenným sadebním materiálem v hustotě 5000 ks·ha-1, 9000 ks·ha-1, 14000 ks·ha-1 a 18000 ks·ha-1. Borovice byly sázeny ve čtvercovém nebo obdélníkovém sponu. Obdélníkový spon byl použit pouze při hustotě 9000 ks·ha-1. Byly měřeny tyto parametry borovic: výška nadzemní části; tloušťka kořenového krčku; letošní přírůst; délka, tloušťka a počet větví na 2. přeslenu; délka, tloušťka a počet větví na 3. přeslenu; délka jehlic na 3. přeslenu posledního přírůstu a bylo zjišťováno poškození jedinců. Nejvíce se pro oblast vátých písků hodí krytokořenný sadební materiál ve vysoké hustotě (14000 ks·ha-1 a 18000 ks·ha-1), nebo v obdélníkovém sponu, u kterého byly prokázány nižší ztráty po výsadbě. Morfologická kvalita krytokořenných jedinců sázených ve vysoké hustotě (14000 ks·ha-1 a 18000 ks·ha-1) nebo nižší hustotě (9000 ks·ha-1), a zároveň v obdélníkovém sponu je lepší než u jedinců prostokořenných.

Abstract:

The topic of the diploma thesis was to determine the morphological quality of Scots pine at different densities, spacings and types of planting stock. The testing areas were reforested with containerized and bare-rooted planting stock in the density of 5000 pieces·ha-1, 9000 pcs·ha-1, 14000 pcs·ha-1 and 18000 pcs·ha-1. The pines were planted in a square or rectangular spacing. The rectangular spacing was used only at a density of 9000 pcs·ha-1. The following parameters were measured: height of the above-ground part; root collar diameter; this year's increment of growth; length, diameter and number of branches on the 2nd whorl; length, diameter and number of branches on the 3rd whorl; the length of the needles on the 3rd whorl of the latest increment and the damage of the individuals was detected. The most suitable for ,,vátých písků“ area is containerized planting stock in high density (14000 pcs·ha-1 a 18000 pcs·ha-1), or in a rectangular spacing, which has shown to have lower mortality after planting. The morphological quality of containerized individuals planted at high density (14000 pcs·ha-1 a 18000 pcs·ha-1) or low density (9000 pcs·ha-1), while in a rectangular spacing is better than of bare-rooted individuals planting.
