Feminization of chosen nouns of profession or position in the Spanish newspapers El Mundo and El País between the years 2000 and 2004

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the nouns referring to occupation or function and their gender inflection in two important Spanish periodicals El Mundo and El País between 2000-2004, whose texts are available in the synchronic Spanish corpus CREA. The theoretical part is devoted, among other things, to the creation of female nouns using the corresponding endings, their classification and gender in Spanish. Based on established criteria I have chosen five interesting nouns, which I continue to deal with in detail in the practical part, which contains processed data from corpus, illustrative examples and discussion of the results.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská diplomová práce se zabývá podstatnými jmény označujícími povolání či funkce a jejich přechylováním v rodě ve dvou významných španělských periodikách El Mundo a El País v letech 2000-2004, jejichž texty jsou přístupné ze synchronního španělského korpusu CREA. Teoretická část je věnována kromě jiného tvoření ženských substantiv pomocí příslušných koncovek, jejich klasifikaci a rodu ve španělštině. Na základě stanovených kritérií jsem následně vybrala pět zajímavých substantiv, kterým se nadále podrobně věnuji v praktické části, která obsahuje zpracovaná data z korpusu, názorné příklady a diskusi výsledků.
