State apparatuses and their role in the solution of political extremism in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je sledovat roli státních aparátů České republiky, konkrétně však těch represivních, v řešení politického extrémismu na našem území od vzniku samostatného státu v roce 1993 po současnost. Podstatnou pro účel této práce je nutnost pochopení, jak státní aparáty v České republice v rámci této problematiky fungují, jak politický extrémismus definují a samozřejmě jak své postupy v boji proti němu legitimizují. Pro interpretaci konkrétních strategií a způsobů v postupu proti politickému extrémismu se práce opírá o teorii ideologie od Louise Althussera a o teorii nálepkování od Howarda Beckera. Teorie ideologie poskytuje ucelenější rámec toho, jakým způsobem represivní státní aparáty fungují, a jaká je jejich úloha. Teorie nálepkování pak poskytuje širší vysvětlení toho, jakým způsobem státní aparáty mohou fungovat, či jaké prostředky a legitimizační nástroje využívají. Práce se zaměřuje na představení těchto teorií z důvodu interpretačního zarámování získaných dat. V práci je dále představeno, jakým způsobem právo a Ústavní pořádek České republiky pracují s termínem extrémismus, respektive jak jej definují, a které státní složky se jím zabývají.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to observe the the role of state apparatuses of Czech Republic, specifically the repressive ones, when they are dealing with political extremism on our territory from the creation of an independent state in 1993 to present. Essential for the purpose of the thesis is to understand how state apparatus work in the Czech Republic, how they define political extremism and, of course, how they legitimize their practices to combat it. The thesis uses a ideology theory by Louise Althusser and labeling theory by Howard Becker to interpret specific strategies and ways which are used in procedures against political extremism and also to define their purpose. Label theory provides a broader explanation of the way in which state apparatus may work and what means and legitimation tools they use. The thesis focues on the introduction to these theories for the reason the the interpretation of the obtained data. The thesis also introduces how the law and Constitutional order of the Czech Republic works with the term "extremism", respectively, how it defines it and which state apparatus deal with it.
