Reaction speed of the dominant upper limb in volleyball and floorball players.

Abstract:

Předmětem této bakalářské práce je porovnání reakčních rychlosti mezi volejbalistkami, florbalistkami a kontrolní skupinou, zastupovanou ženami, které nevykonávají žádnou strukturovanou pohybovou aktivitu. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na charakteristiky obou sportů a také na shrnutí motorických schopností, jejichž součástí je i reakční rychlost. Hlavním cílem práce bylo provést analýzu a statisticky zpracovat data získané pomocí standardizované metody. Touto metodou byl test zachycení volně padajícího předmětu, díky kterému byly získány požadované výsledky. Tyto výsledky ukázaly, že volejbalistky mají statisticky lepší reakční rychlost dominantní horní končetiny, než kontrolní skupina, což potvrdila hodnota p = 0,0438, získaná z analýzy rozptylu. Pro nedominantní horní končetinu bylo zjištěno, že volejbalistky i florbalistky mají statisticky lepší reakční rychlost, než kontrolní skupina. Tohle zjištění potvrdila hodnota p = 0,0018, která je výsledkem analýzy rozptylu.

Abstract:

The subject of this bachelor thesis is a comparison of reaction speeds between volleyball and floorball players and a control group, represented by women who do not perform any structured physical activity. The theoretical part focuses on the characteristics of the two sports and also summarizes the motor skills, of which reaction speed is a part. The main objective of the thesis was to analyze and statistically process the data obtained using a standardized method. This method was the free-falling object interception test, thanks to which the desired results were obtained. These results showed that the volleyball players had a statistically better reaction speed of the dominant upper limb than the control group, which was confirmed by the p value = 0.0438 obtained from the analysis of variance. For the non-dominant upper limb, both volleyball and floorball players were found to have statistically better reaction speed than the control group. This finding was confirmed by a p-value of = 0.0018 resulting from analysis of variance.
