Evaluation of the success of astigmatism correction using contact lenses.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem Hodnocení úspěšnosti korekce astigmatismu pomocí kontaktních čoček je členěná na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoretická část shrnuje obecné poznatky o astigmatismu, jeho etiologii, rozdělení a obsahuje historické poznatky a anatomicko-fyziologický základ. Druhá polovina teoretické části popisuje objektivní a subjektivní diagnostiku této refrakční vady a možnosti korekce. Podrobně je rozpracována část, která se zabývá korekcí pomocí měkkých tórických kontaktních čoček. Praktická část se věnuje hodnocení korekce astigmatismu jednodenními a měsíčními měkkými tórickými kontaktními čočkami. Jsou stanoveny tři hlavní hypotézy, popsán vyšetřovaný soubor a metodika výzkumu. Jsou zde vyhodnoceny získané hodnoty a statisticky zpracované hypotézy. V závěru práce je stručně shrnuta teoretická část práce a splnění stanovených cílů.

Abstract:

My master thesis with it´s name Evaluating the success of astigmatism correction using contact lenses is divided into 2 parts- a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part summarizes basic knowledge about astigmatism, it´s etiology and divergence. Historical knowledge and anatomical-physiological basis are mentioned too. One part is dedicated to physical conception of astigmatism. The rest of the theoretical part is dedicated to objective and subjective diagnose of this refractive imperfection and ways of correction. The highest attention is dedicated to correction using soft toric contact lenses. Three main hypothesis are set, an examination complex and the method of the research are described. Measured values are evaluated and hypothesis are statistically processed. In the end of the thesis there is a brief summary of the theoretical part and accomplishment of the research.
