Abstract:

V této diplomové práci se věnujeme především studiu synchronizace dynamických systémů z hlediska teorie bifurkací. Historicky je jev synchronizace úzce spjat s oblastí fyziky, významnou část textu proto představuje také fyzikální pohled na tuto problematiku. Stav systému určeného dvojicí interagujících oscilátorů lze popsat trajektoriemi na dvourozměrném invariantním toru. Vznik daného toru a periodických trajektorií na něm je možné vysvětlit bifurkacemi limitních cyklů, případně diskrétními bifurkacemi pevných bodů a cyklů na příslušných Poincarého řezech. Uvedený přístup demonstrujeme analýzou buzeného Van der Polova oscilátoru. Důraz je kladen především na přehlednou vizualizaci jak periodických, tak kvaziperiodických oscilací tohoto buzeného systému. Koexistence obou různých netriviálních atraktorů – periodického a kvaziperiodického – nabízí možné vysvětlení tzv. stavů chiméry, představující situaci, kdy ve skupině oscilátorů dochází k sesynchronizování pouhé části z nich, zatímco ostatní oscilují asynchronně.

Abstract:

In this thesis we mainly focus on the study of synchronization of dynamical systems from the bifurcation theory point of view. Historically, the phenomenon of synchronization is closely related to the field of physics, a significant part of the text, therefore, deals with synchronization from a physical persepective. The state of a dynamical system composed of a pair of interacting oscillators is determined by its orbits on an invariant two-torus. Birth of this torus and the periodic trajectories on its surface can be described by bifurcations of limit cycles, or bifurcations of fixed points or cycles on corresponding Poincaré sections. We demonstrate this approach through an analysis of a forced van der Pol oscillator. The emphasis is on a clear visualisation of both periodic and quasiperiodic oscillations of this system. The coexistence of two distinct nontrivial attractors – the periodic and quasiperiodic – provides a possible explanation of so-called chimera states, representing the coexistence of coherent and incoherent dynamics.
