Beginning Elementary School Teacher

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na začínající učitele na 1. stupni základní školy v jejich adaptačním období. V teoretické části je obecně popsána učitelská profese, přesněji jsou vymezeny profesní kompetence a s nimi spojený profesní standard. Dále je charakterizována potřebná kvalifikace a požadavky, profesní vývoj a samotné uvádění začínajícího učitele do praxe, jak v České republice, tak i v Evropě. Na základě výzkumného šetření SYPO (Systém podpory profesního rozvoje učitelů a ředitelů) jsou vystiženy největší obtíže, které činily dotazovaným začínajícím učitelům problém. Cílem výzkumné části bylo zmapovat to, jakým způsobem začínající učitelé vnímají podoby podpory při jejich profesním startu. Byla využita výzkumná smíšená strategie. V rámci ní se realizovalo dotazníkové šetření u 80 respondentek (vybraných absolventek studijního programu Učitelství 1. stupně ZŠ na PdF OU v letech 2021, 2022 a 2023).Realizovány byly rovněž polostrukturované rozhovory s vybranými devíti začínajícími učitelkami, čímž byl získán větší vhled do průběhu jejich adaptace. Začínající učitelé vyhodnocují poskytnutou podporu ze strany vedení školy a kolegů jako velmi cennou, zejména v podobě role uvádějícího učitele, což přispívá k pozitivnímu vnímání profesního začátku, ačkoliv adaptační plán a profesní portfolio jsou využívány pouze omezeně. Nejlépe svou odbornou připravenost reflektují v oblasti komunikativní a sociální kompetence, zatímco chápou potřebu dalšího rozvoje v oblasti hodnocení výsledků žáků, sebereflexe a profesního portfolia.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on beginning elementary school teachers in their induction period. In the theoretical part, the teaching profession is generally described, the professional competencies and the professional standard associated with them are more precisely defined. Subsequently is characterized by the necessary qualifications and requirements, professional development, and the induction of a beginning teacher, both in the Czech Republic and in Europe. Based on the SYPO research inquiry (Teacher and Principal Professional Development Support System), the biggest difficulties encountered by beginning teachers surveyed are identified. The aim of the research section was to map out how beginning teachers perceive the forms of support in their career start-up. A research mixed strategy has been employed. Within it, a questionnaire investigation was carried out in 80 respondents (selected graduates of the Primary School Teaching program to Pdf OU in the years 2021, 2022 and 2023). There were also semi-structured interviews with the selected nine beginning teachers, gaining greater insight into the progress of their induction period. Beginning teachers are evaluating the support provided by the school's management and colleagues as very valuable, particularly in the form of the mentor teacher role, which contributes to a positive perception of a career start, although the adaptation plan and professional portfolio are used only in a limited way. They best reflect their professional preparedness in the field of communicative and social competence, while they understand the need for further development in the field of evaluation of pupils' self-reflection and professional portfolio.
