Práce zkoumá reprezentaci španělsky mluvících skupin v americkém mainstreamovém tisku. Hlavními cíli této práce je zjistit, zda jsou španělsky mluvící skupiny reprezentovány negativně, dále identifikovat jazykové strategie užívané médii při vyjadřování ideologií a postojů a nakonec porovnat rozsah využití těchto strategií v seriózním a v populárním tisku. The thesis studies the representation of the Spanish speaking groups in mainstream American printed media. The main objectives of the research are to find out whether the Spanish speaking groups are represented negatively in the printed media, to identify discursive strategies used by newspapers when expressing their ideologies and attitudes, and finally to explore the extent of employment of these …more
