Power, Passion, Male and Female in The Picture of Dorian Gray and Bel-Ami

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je provést textovou analýzu dvou světově proslulých románů z konce 19. století, Obraz Doriana Graye, který napsal Oscar Wilde, a Miláček, jehož autorem je Guy de Maupassant. Tato analýza je zaměřena na téma moci, vášně, vztahu mužů a žen a vliv, který mají nejen na hlavní hrdiny těchto románů, ale i na jejich okolí. Práce rovněž porovná hlavní hrdiny románů, Doriana Graye and Gergese Duroya s ohledem na téma moci, vášně a vztahu mužů a žen.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to conduct a textual analyze two world - famous novels of the late 19th century, The Picture of Dorian Gray written by Oscar Wilde and Bel-Ami written by Guy de Maupassant. The analysis is focused on the themes of power, passion, male and female relations and what impact they have not only on the main protagonists of the novels but also on their close environment. The thesis will also compare the main characters, Dorian Gray and Georges Duroy with regard to the themes of power, passion and male and female relations.
