On the history of the Frývaldov strike

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje historii Frývaldovské stávky, která se odehrála 25. listopadu 1931. Zaměření je jak na stávku samotnou, tak na její domácí či zahraniční příčiny. Zmíněny jsou také důsledky stávky či její využití v budoucí propagandě komunistické strany. Práce postupuje systematicky od samotné světové hospodářské krize přes její důsledky v Československé republice po ekonomickou situaci na Frývaldovsku před krizí a v jejím průběhu. Součástí posledního zmíněného úseku je hlavní téma práce, což je hladový pochod, v průběhu, kterého bylo četníky zabito 8 demonstrantů. Problematika ekonomické krize a jejich možných důsledků je vzhledem k dnešní době aktuální, avšak společnosti tato událost či jí podobné příliš známá. S určitou úpravou se dá práce využít v hodinách dějepisu jako příklad negativ první republiky, jelikož ty se často ve vyučování opomíjí.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the history of the Frývald strike, which took place on 25 November, 1931. The focus is on the strike itself, as well as on its domestic or foreign causes.The consequences of the strike or its use in future Communist Party propaganda are also mentioned. The work proceeds systematically from the world economic crisis itself through its consequences in the Czechoslovak Republic to the economic situation in the Frývald region before and during the crisis. The last mentioned section includes the main theme of the work, which is the hunger march during which 8 demonstrators were killed by gendarmes. The issue of the economic crisis and its possible consequences is a topical one given the current times, but the society is not very familiar with this event or similar ones. With some modification, the work can be used in history classes as an example of the negatives of the First Republic, as these are often neglected in the classroom.
