English Royal Protocol: Development and Historical Context

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá vznikem Anglického královského protokolu a jeho vývoje v průběhu jednotlivých staletí. Práce je členěna do čtyř kapitol, které jsou následně členěné na další podkapitoly. V jednotlivých kapitolách je popsán historický vývoj britského protokolu až do současné doby. K tvorbě práce byla využita nejen česká, ale také zahraniční literatura a odborné materiály, které veřejnosti nabízí oficiální webové stránky britské královské rodiny. Empirická část práce je obsažena v kapitolách 2 a 5, kde je popsán proces korunovace vybraných panovníků. V prvním případě je popsán proces korunovačního obřadu zesnulé královny Alžběty II. V druhém případě je detailně popisován korunovační obřad krále Karla III. Komparativní metodou jsou v závěru porovnávány jednotlivé ceremoniály, na jejichž základě je popsán rozdíl mezi oběma korunovačními obřady. Rozdílnosti mezi jednotlivými obřady jsou čtenáři následně z protokolárního hlediska také objasněny.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the creation of the English Royal Protocol and its development over the centuries. The work is divided into four chapters, which are subsequently divided into further subsections. The individual chapters describe the historical development of the British protocol up to the present time. For the creation of the work, not only Czech, but also foreign literature and professional materials, which are offered to the public on the official website of the British royal family, were used. The empirical part of the work is contained in chapters 2 and 5, where the process of coronation of selected monarchs is described. In the first case, the process of the coronation ceremony of the late Queen Elizabeth II is described. In the second case, the coronation ceremony of King Charles III is described in detail. In the end, individual ceremonies are compared using the comparative method, on the basis of which the difference between the two coronation ceremonies is described. The differences between the individual ceremonies are subsequently also explained to the reader from a protocol point of view.
