Chronic wounds and pressure sores from the perspective of a dietitian

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the issues of chronic wounds and pressure ulcers and an impact of nutrition on their healing. Theoretical part contains basic characteristics of individual wounds, the causes of their appearing as well as the factors involved in the formation and the treatment. The theoretical part of this thesis also deals with nutrition and its effect on the healing of wounds and pressure ulcers. It includes the role of individual macronutrients and micronutrients and their recommended doses for proper healing of wound. Its last chapter deals with oral nutritional supplements and their application in this process of healing. The practical part contains three study cases of patients with pressure ulcers, of whom the intake of individual nutri-ents intake analyses, nutrition diagnoses determination and nutritional interventions suggestions were provided.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou chronických ran a dekubitů a vlivu výživy na jejich hojení. Teoretická část zahrnuje základní charakteristiky jednotlivých typů ran, příčiny jejich vzniku a faktory podílející se na jejich vzniku a léčbě. Teoretická část práce se dále věnuje výživě a jejímu vlivu na hojení ran a dekubitů. Zahrnuje úlo-hu jednotlivých makroživin a mikroživin a jejich doporučené dávky pro správné ho-jení ran. Poslední kapitola teoretické části se věnuje orálním nutričním suplementům a jejich využití při hojení ran a dekubitů. Praktická část obsahuje tři kazuistiky paci-entů s dekubitálními vředy, u kterých bylo provedeno zhodnocení příjmu jednotli-vých nutrientů, stanoveny nutriční diagnózy a navrženy nutriční intervence.
