Radiosensitizing effect of metal nanoparticles in tumor therapy
Abstract:
Použití nanočástic v radioterapii slibuje zvýšení účinku ionizujícího záření na nádorové buňky, snížení nežádoucích účinků léčby, a tedy zlepšení prognózy pacienta. Nanočástice tvořené těžkými atomy (s vysokým Z) se přednostně akumulují v nádorových buňkách a po absorpci záření emitují spršky elektronů, které poškozují okolní buněčné struktury a vedou ke zvýšené smrti ozářených buněk. Usage of nanoparticles in radiotherapy promises enhancement of radiation effects on tumor cells, lower side effects of the treatment, and thus better prognosis for patients.
