THE UTILIZITATION OF PORTER{\crq}S MODEL The utilization of Porter's model in the area of competitive intelligence

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá využitím Porterova modelu v oboru konkurenční zpravodajství (CI). Práce se skládá z 8 kapitol. První kapitola tvoří úvod do celé práce. Kapitoly 2-5 obsahují seznámení se s oborem konkurenčního zpravodajství doplněné o teorii týkající se Porterova modelu. Tvoří tedy teoretický základ této práce. První kapitola definuje termín konkurenční zpravodajství a popisuje druhy zdrojů, se kterými CI pracuje. Následuje kapitola popisující roviny působení konkurenčního zpravodajství v ekonomické sféře. Třetí kapitola se zabývá porovnáním tohoto oboru ve světě. A poslední neodmyslitelnou kapitolou v teoretické části je situace konkurenčního zpravodajství v České republice. Druhou částí práce je aplikace Porterova modelu při analýze konkurenčního prostředí v oblasti soukromých detektivních kanceláří. Členění praktické části odpovídá struktuře Porterova modelu. Jedná se tedy o informace o stávající konkurenci, bariérách vstupu na trh, dodavatelích, odběratelích a možných substitutech. Závěr praktické části shrnuje výsledky Porterova modelu a obsahuje doporučení pro budoucího podnikatele na trhu s detektivními službami na území středočeského kraje.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis uses the concept of {\clqq}Porter Model`` in the area of competitive intelligence (CI). The thesis consist of 8 sections. The first chapter presents introduction of the work as a complex. The first five chapters describe the area of competitive inteligence as well as the theory of of Porter{\crq}s model. The first part is thus clasified as the theoretical part of this thesis. The first chapter defines the term {--}competitive intelliegence and goes into detail identifying different types of resources that CI works with. The next chapter describes the levels of influence of CI in the economic area. The third chapter focuses on comparisons of CI field in different ciuntries. The last and the essential chapter of the theoretical part describes the situation of the use of CI in the Czech Republic. The second part is the application of Porter{\crq}s model in analysis of the competitive environment in the area of private investigation agencies. The division of practical parts corresponds to the structure of the model. The information provided in this chapter includes the following: current competition, barriers to enter the market, suppliers, customers and possible subagents. The conclusion of the practical part concludes with a summary of results of Porter{\crq}s model and consists of recommednations for future enterpreneurs in the trade of investigation services in the central Bohemian region. The practical part also includes web presentation.
