The language of Nazism in Vermes' Look Who's Back and its translation into Czech
Abstract:
This master thesis is concerned with the language of the Third Reich, its use in the German satirical novel Look Who’s Back and its translation into Czech. First of all, the characteristics of the language of Nazism are described, after that, their occurrence in the novel Look Who’s Back is analysed and finally, the thesis examines how they become evident in the Czech translation of the book.
Abstract:
Tato magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá jazykem Třetí říše, jeho použitím v německém satirickém románu Už je tady zas a jeho překladem do češtiny. Práce popisuje znaky jazyka nacismu, analyzuje jejich výskyt v románu Už je tady zas a zkoumá, jak se projevují v českém překladu knihy.
