Abstract:

Disertační práce s názvem Hastábhinaja. Gesta rukou v tradičním divadelním umění Indie se zabývá tradičním indickým herectvím. Zaměřuje se na specifickou formu komunikace herce s divákem – na komunikaci prostřednictvím muder, jež jsou zpravidla charakterizovány jako symbolické pozice rukou. Hlavním cílem disertační práce bylo pojednat o tom, na jakých principech se vyjadřování prostřednictvím muder v performačních aktivitách Indie zakládá. V práci je prověřována teze, že v případě muder jde o komunikaci mezi jevištěm a hledištěm prostřednictvím svébytného jazykového systému, který je schopen vyjádřit jakoukoli myšlenku i emoci. Výsledky výzkumu v této oblasti jsou založeny na staroindické i novodobé divadelní literatuře v sanskrtu, angličtině, případně francouzštině, především na poetikách a hereckých manuálech, a na současné praxi tradičního indického divadla či tanečních forem, kterou autorka zkoumala v rámci výzkumné cesty po Indii – ponejvíce praxe kéralských divadelních aktivit, zejména divadla kúdijáttam a kathakali.

Abstract:

The thesis entitled Hastabhinaya. Hand gestures in traditional theatre art of India deals with traditional Indian acting style, particularly with hand gestures. Its focus lies in a specific form of actor-spectator communication – the communication carried out with by means of mudras, or symbolic hand positions. The aim of the thesis consists in defining of the principles of this mode of communication within performance activities of India. The thesis also verifies the proposition that mudras create autonomous language system by which every single thought or emotion can be expressed. The research is based on ancient and also contemporary theatre literature in Sanskrit, English or French, most of all on poetics and acting manuals, and on contemporary practice of traditional theatre or dance in India. The most important sources of the research were the kootiyattam and kathakali theatre.
