Risk diversification in investment decision making using the alternative forms of investment

Abstract:

Diploma work describes individual investment philosophies used in the financial markets, compares different investment strategies, analyses investment tools and the model investor portfolio is created at the end of the work. In the theoretical part in chapters one and two of this diploma work is devoted to the analysis of the individual investment philosophies and strategies. The explanation of risks related to the process of investment is also in the theoretical part of the work. The third and fourth chapters contain the analysis and the summary of the investment tools which are available on the financial market. These chapters also provide an analysis of the alternative possibilities of investments. In the fifth chapter there is a model investor portfolio containing not only classical investment tools but also alternative investments. The final part evaluates the investment possibilities in Slovak market and explains construction of the model portfolio.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca popisuje jednotlivé investičné filozofie uplatňované na finančných trhoch, porovnáva rôzne investičné stratégie, analyzuje investičné nástroje a v závere je vytvorené modelové portfólio investora. V teoretickej časti, t.j. v prvej a druhej kapitole, je práca zameraná na analýzu jednotlivých investičných filozofií a stratégií. Súčasťou teoretickej časti je aj vysvetlenie rizík súvisiacich s investičnou činnosťou. Tretia a štvrtá kapitola analyzujú a sumarizujú investičné nástroje, ktoré sú k dispozícií na finančnom trhu a zo širšieho pohľadu analyzujú alternatívne možnosti investovania. Piata kapitola obsahuje modelové portfólio investora, ktoré obsahuje nielen klasické investičné nástroje, ale aj alternatívne investície. Záverečná časť hodnotí možnosti investovania na slovenskom trhu a zdôvodňuje zostavenie modelového portfólia.
