This Bachelor’s diploma thesis focuses on the legend of Johnny Appleseed, one of America’s most popular pioneer heroes. It analyzes William D. Haley’s Johnny Appleseed: A Pioneer Hero and compares it to other modern-day works. Most importantly, to William Kerrigan’s Johnny Appleseed and the American Orchard: A Cultural History.
