Activities of European Investment Bank in Africa

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá aktivitami Evropské investiční banky v Africe. Popisuje rozvojovou pomoc této instituce i Evropské unie v afrických, karibských a tichomořských zemích a věnuje se podpoře malých a středních podniků, a to zejména v Keni. Z důvodu velmi stručných veřejně přístupných informací o projektech a nedostatku odborných článků a literatury, je poslední část práce věnována transparentnosti této instituce. Cílem práce je uvedení přínosů a negativ spolupráce v této oblasti a zhodnocení transparentnosti.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with activities of the European Investment Bank in Africa. It describes development activities of this institution and the European Union in Africa, Caribbean and Pacific and its support of small and medium-sized enterprises, especially in Kenya. Due to very brief publicly available information on the projects and the lack of scholarly articles and literature, the last part of this thesis explores transparency of this institution. The main goal is to describe advantages and disadvantages of this cooperation and to evaluate transparency.
