Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce Vlastnosti internetových aukcí s platbou za příhoz je analýza vlastností internetových all-pay aukcí na datech získaných z českého serveru Bonus.cz. Nejprve představuji navrhovaný herně-teoretický model dle Platt et al. (2013). Dále uvádím krátký popis zmíněného aukčního portálu a dat. Následuje popisná a průzkumná statistická analýza odhalující zajímavý vývoj v průběhu času. V další části odhaduji ekonometrické modely počtu příhozů, zisku provozovatele a úspor vítěze a srovnávám výsledky s některými předpoklady modelu. Nakonec provádím výpočty teoretického modelu a testuji jeho schopnost popsat skutečná data.

Abstract:

The goal of the thesis Properties of Penny Auctions is to analyze properties of internet all-pay auctions using data retrieved from the Czech auction website Bonus.cz. First, I introduce game-theoretical model proposed by Platt et al (2013) and short description of the website and my data. This is followed by descriptive and exploratory statistical analysis revealing interesting changes in the data over the observed time period. In the next part, I estimate econometric models explaining number of bids, seller’s profits and winner’s savings and compare results with some of model predictions. Finally, I evaluate the theoretical model and test it’s ability to fit the observed data.
