Handel's cantata work with a focus on the Italian period

Abstract:

Diplomová práce Händelova kantátová tvorba se zaměřením na italské období se zabývá kantátou zejména vrcholného baroka, jejím vývojem na italském území a situací v době Händelova příjezdu. Dále vývojem skladatelské osobnosti Georga Friedricha Händela od dětství přes první působiště do příjezdu do Itálie. Mapuje jeho italský pobyt, pohyby v hudebních centrech a zejména jeho kantátovou tvorbu. Závěr práce obsahuje výběrovou analýzu afektů, hudebně rétorických figur a klíčových slov textů dvou Händelových italských světských kantát.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis Handel’s cantata work with a focus on the Italian period deals with the cantata especially of the High Baroque, its development on Italian territory and the situation at the time of Handel's arrival. Further, the development of the composer personality of George Frideric Handel from his childhood, first places of work until his arrival into Italy. It describes his stay in Italy, his visits of musical centers and especially his cantata production. The conclusion of the thesis contains a selective analysis of the affects, musical rhetorical figures and keywords of the texts of the two Italian cantatas of Handel.
