Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá popisem a analýzou rodinných vztahů a vazeb mezi postavami v dílech E. M. Forstera, a to konkrétně v románech Maurice a Kam se bojí vkročit andělé, ve kterých jsou mezilidské vztahy stěžejním tématem. Pozornost je věnována především společným a odlišným znakům, které jednotlivé rodinné vztahy v dílech vykazují, a zejména také jejich vlivu na psychiku a chování jednotlivých postav. Práce dále poukazuje na to, jakým způsobem různé rodinné vztahy utváří jednotlivé charaktery a postoje, které postavy zaujímají k sobě samým i k ostatním. Práce je zpracována jako literární psychologický rozbor na základě sedmi vzájemně propojených konceptů teorie rodinných systémů amerického psychiatra Murraye Bowena.

Abstract:

The major objective of this bachelor’s thesis is to describe and analyse the characters and the family relationships between them in the fiction of E. M. Forster, namely in the novels Maurice and Where Angels Fear to Tread, where interpersonal relations play a crucial role in the development of the characters and their respective families. The work focuses on the similarities and the differences between the family relationships in the novels, aiming to explore the influence of these relationships on the individual characters’ psyche and behaviour. The thesis uses the seven interlocking concepts of the Bowenian family systems theory as its theoretical framework.
