An Analysis of Selected Factors Influencing Sports Performance in Tennis

Abstract:

Předložená práce se zabývá problematikou posouzení vlivu vybraných faktorů na sportovní výkon v tenisu. Výzkum byl realizován u souboru českých tenistů (n=619) a tenistek (n=516) v letech 1999 – 2010 pomocí testové baterie TENDIAG1. Případové studie čtyř mezinárodně úspěšných hráčů a hráček zaměřené na posouzení úrovně výkonnostních předpokladů byly doplněny o výsledky strukturovaného interview a o expertní posouzení. U somatických charakteristik byl zjištěn postupný nárůst středních hodnot u obou souborů, úroveň tělesné výšky i hmotnosti byla oproti populaci vyšší. V oblasti kondičních a koordinačních testů byl zjištěn různý charakter vývojových trendů. Případové studie u vybraných hráčů a hráček prokázaly, že jejich kondičně-koordinační úroveň se většinově pohybovala nad hranicí průměru kondičně-koordinačních předpokladů. Analýza sociálních, ekonomických a marketinkových faktorů ukázala jejich značnou variabilitu u probandů, kteří již v juniorském věku patřili k předním hráčům a hráčkám na mezinárodní úrovni. Sociálně-ekonomické podmínky ovlivňující jejich vývoj byly odlišné, jejich marketingový potenciál je úzce spjatý s jejich tenisovými výsledky na mezinárodní úrovni.

Abstract:

The submitted paper deals with the assessment issues of the influence of chosen factors on sports performance in tennis. The research was done with the population of Czech tennis players, male (n=619) and female (n=516) in the years 1999-2010 using the test battery TENDIAGI1. The case studies of four internationally successful players oriented on the assessment of the level of performance preconditions were supplemented with the results of structured interviews and expert assessments. In somatic indicators, progressive increase of median values was found in both populations; the level of body height and weight was in comparison with the general population higher. In the area of conditioning and coordination tests, different characters of evolutionary trends were found. The case studies of chosen players proved that their conditioning-coordination level was mostly above the average of conditioning-coordination preconditions. An analysis of social, economic, and marketing factors showed their considerable variability in subjects who were among leading players at the international level already at their junior age. Social and economic conditions influencing their development were different; their marketing potential is closely connected to their tennis results at the international level.
