Landscape

Abstract:

Moje práce s názvem Krajina je instalací skleněných objektů, rozložených na podlaze a železném plechu, který ji však neohraničuje. Mým prvním inspiračním zdrojem byly medúzy, které mě přivedly ke sklu, a jejich přemnožení k mojí krajině. Z hlediska historického je sklářství českým řemeslem již od 13. století, a udrželo se, i přes jisté špatné roky, na výsluní dodnes. Jména jako Libenský, Brychtová, Roubíček aj. proslavila české sklářství ve 20. století i ve světě. Hlavní technika, kterou jsem použila je spékání (fusing) hutních střepů skla.

Abstract:

My diploma thesis, which is called Landscape, is an installation of glass objects. They are displayed on the floor and iron sheet, but the sheet does not mark the boundaries of them. Medusas were my first source of inspiration. They gave me an idea to use glass and their excessive multiplication brought me to my Landscape. From the historical point of view, glass-making is the Czech craft since the 13th century, and in spite of the fact, that there were some bad years, it is basking in glory up to the present. The names such as Libenský, Brychtová, Roubíček etc., made Czech glass-making in the 20th century world-famous. I used the fusing of metallurgical chips of glass as my main technique.
