Transformation of cultural landscape of the city of Verneřice in the 19th and 20th centuries

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na analýzu a interpretaci změn v kulturní krajině města Verneřice v 19. a 20. století. Pro větší kompaktnost je práce doplněna o určité závěry z druhé poloviny 18. století a počátku 21. století. Práce si klade za cíl zachytit hospodářskou a kulturní situaci v jednotlivých zkoumaných etapách. Získaná data je nutné dále zhodnotit v rámci obecných trendů změn ve využití půdy. Podkladem pro výzkum kulturní krajiny jsou především staré mapy, za 18. století je využito I. vojenského mapování, za 19. století II. a III. vojenského mapování a císařských povinných otisků stabilního katastru. Pro 20. století a současnost již bylo využito ortofotosnímků. Pro snadnější interpretaci změn byly mapy v prostředí ArcMap vektorizovány a z vyjmutých číselných dat o výměře ploch byly vypracovány tabulky a grafy. Údaje získané z mapových podkladů jsou navíc doplněny o informace vytažené z archivních fondů a městských kronik. Výsledkem je ucelená syntéza změn v rámci jednotlivých sledovaných období rozšířená o související obecné tendence. Předkládaná práce lze využít jako základ pro vypracování strategií regionálního rozvoje či pro územní plánování.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis and interpretation of changes in the cultural landscape of Verneřice in the 19th and 20th centuries. The thesis is supplemented with some conclusions from the second half of the 18th century and the beginning of the 21st century for better compactness. The thesis focusses on the economic and cultural situation in each of the examined periods. The obtained data must be further evaluated in the context of general trends in land-use changes. The basis for the research of the cultural landscape is mainly old maps, for the 18th century has been used the first Military Survey, for the 19th century have been used the second and third Military Survey and the Franciscan Cadastre. For the 20th century and the present, orthophotos have been used. For easier interpretation of the changes, the maps were vectorized in the ArcMap software and tables and graphs were produced from the extracted numerical data about using area. The data obtained from the map data are supplemented with information extracted from archival funds and town chronicles. The result is a compact synthesis of the changes in the individual periods under consideration, supplemented by related general trends. This work can be used as a basis for regional development strategies or for spatial planning.
