Barriers to the implementation of robotic assisted surgery supported by AI in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Diplomová práce identifikuje bariéry při implementaci roboticky asistované chirurgie s podporou umělé inteligence v České republice. Teoretická část souhrnně popisuje teorii RACH, její bariéry a situaci v České republice. V praktické části je vysvětlená problematika z teoretické části použita na analýzu bariér RACH ve zdravotnictví vČR. Diplomová práce je výzkumně zaměřená a metodika práce kombinuje kvalitativní a kvantitativní výzkum. Kvalitativní část výzkumu je tvořena z polostrukturovaného rozhovoru s lékaři, kteří s RACH pracují i s těmi, kteří s ní ještě nemají zkušenost. Tím je získán ucelený obraz vnímání RACH ve zdravotnictví ze strany lékařů v nemocnicích. Zároveň je provedeno dotazníkové šetření jako kvantitativní část výzkumu, do kterého jsou zapojeni potenciální pacienti ze všech věkových a společenských vrstev. Přínosem práce je zjištění aktuální situace roboticky asistované chirurgie v České republice a odhalení konkrétních bariér při její implementaci. To může pomoci při budoucí implementaci RACH podpořené umělou inteligencí ve zdravotnictví v ČR.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis identifies barriers to the implementation of robotic assisted surgery with the support of artificial intelligence in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part summarizes the theory of robotic assisted surgery, its barriers and the situation in the Czech Republic. In the practical part, the explained issues from the theoretical part are used to analyze the barriers to robotic assisted surgery in healthcare in the Czech Republic. The diploma thesis is research-oriented and the work methodology combines qualitative and quantitative research. The qualitative part of the research consists of a semi-structured interview with doctors who work with robotic assisted surgery, and those who do not yet have experience with it. This provides a comprehensive picture of the perception of RACH in healthcare by hospital doctors. At the same time, a questionnaire survey is conducted as a quantitative part of the research, in which potential patients of all ages and social backgrounds are involved. The contribution of the work is to find out the current situation of robotic assisted surgery in the Czech Republic and to reveal specific barriers to its implementation. This can help in the future implementation of robotic assisted surgery supported by artificial intelligence in healthcare in the Czech Republic.
