Cervikálny karcinóm je po karcinóme prs druhou najcastejšou malignitou u žien celého sveta. Rocne je diagnostikovaných pol milióna nových prípadov rakoviny krcka maternice a približne polovica pacientok na toto ochorenie zomiera.
