Comparison of narrative in literary and film version (Bohumil Hrabal: Cutting It Short)

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zpracována jako analýza a následná komparace románu a hraného filmu s cílem dospět ke zjištěním o shodách a rozdílech. Prvním z uvedených uměleckých děl je román Bohumila Hrabala Postřižiny (1974), druhým stejnojmenná adaptace režiséra Jiřího Menzela (1980). Nejprve jsme se krátce zaměřili na život Bohumila Hrabala, následně jsme se seznámili se skutečnostmi, které vedly k filmovému zpracování. Další kapitoly jsou věnovány genezi románu a filmové adaptaci. V samostatných kapitolách zaměřených na román Postřižiny a stejnojmennou filmovou adaptaci jsme podrobili rozboru kategorie vypravěče, postav, času a prostoru a jazyka, které jsme zakončili vzájemnou komparací.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis is processed as an analysis and subsequent of the novel and the feature film in order to reach a fading of similarities and differences. The first of these works is Bohumil Hrabal's novel Postřižiny (1974), the sekond is an adaptation of the identical name by director Jiří Menzel (1980). Firstly, we briefly focused on the life of Bohumil Hrabal, then we got acquainted with the facts that led to the film processing. The next charters are devoted to the genesis of the novel and film adaptation. In separate chapters we are focused on the novel Postřižiny and thefilm adaptation. We analyzed the ccategories of narrator, characters, time and space and langure, which we concluded with a mutual comparison.
