Teoretická část se zabývá stářím, sociální oporou, strachem, úzkostí, umíráním a smrtí, Thanatologií, paliativní péči a potřebami umírajících. V empirické části jsou uvedeny výsledky získané během dotazníkového šetření u seniorů starších 65 let.

Šárka Ježorská, Ph.D. Number of pages: 99 Number of enclosures: 7 Year of defense: 2013 Key words: senior, old age, aged, death, dying, dying person, decease, social support, anxiety, fear, needs, dignity, wishes Abstract in English: The thesis is focused on mapping the extent of fear of death, the extent of social support and the degree of anxiety among the seniors living at home, examines the impact of social support on the fear of death and the degree of anxiety and maps needs which are considered the most important for the seniors in the last moments of their life . The theoretical part deals with old age, social support, fear, anxiety, dying and death, thanatology, palliative care and the needs of the dying people. The results obtained during the survey of seniors over 65 years are introduced in the empirical part.
