Natural regeneration of silver fir (Abies alba) at the University forest enterprise Křtiny and its influence by browsing

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá hodnocením vlivu okusu na přirozenou obnovu jedle bělokoré (Abies alba) na území Školního lesního podniku Křtiny. V rámci sběru dat pro tuto práci bylo v nárostech s presencí jedle bělokoré umístěno jedenáct transektů o fixních rozměrech. Na jaře roku 2023 proběhl monitoring přirozené obnovy všech dřevin na transektech, vycházející z metodiky Čermák a Mrkva (2004), a hodnocení přítomnosti okusu na zaznamenaných dřevinách. Na transektech bylo zjištěno celkem dvacet druhů dřevin, nejzastoupenější byl buk lesní (Fagus sylvatica), jedle bělokorá (Abies alba) a habr obecný (Carpinus betulus). Celkové škody na jedli dosahovaly 24 %, mezi jednotlivými transekty se značně lišily (13–65 %). Byl posouzen vliv jednotlivých faktorů na míru poškození jedlového zmlazení okusem. Dále byla navržena příslušná opatření lesnického a mysliveckého managementu.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the evaluation of the impact of browsing on the natural regeneration of silver fir (Abies alba) in the territory of the University forest enterprise Křtiny. As part of the data collection for this work, eleven transects of fixed dimensions were placed in stands with the presence of silver fir. In the spring of 2023, monitoring of the natural regeneration of all tree species on the transects was carried out, based on the methodology of Čermák and Mrkva (2004), along with an assessment of browsing of the recorded individuals. A total of twenty tree species were detected on the transects, the most represented being European beech (Fagus sylvatica), silver fir (Abies alba) and hornbeam (Carpinus betulus). The total damage to fir reached 24 % and it varied considerably between individual transects (13–65 %). The influence of individual factors on the degree of browsing damage of silver fir regeneration was assessed. Furthermore, appropriate forestry and game management measures were proposed.
