Comparison of the electrochemical properties of boron doped diamond electrodes with different boron content and their application for leucovorin determination

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce bylo porovnání elektrochemických vlastností a aplikačních moţností borem dopovaných diamantových elektrod s různým obsahem boru. Elektrochemické vlastnosti byly studovány zejména pomocí cyklické voltametrie reverzibilních redoxních systémů [Fe(CN)6]3-/4- a [Ru(NH3)6]3+/2+. Jako analyt pro porovnání aplikačních moţností byl zvolen leukovorin, který se vyuţívá při léčbě nádorových onemocnění. V rámci diplomové práce byla vyvinuta metoda jeho stanovení s vyuţitím komerčně dostupné borem dopované diamantové elektrody, která byla následně aplikována na testované elektrody. Získané výsledky byly na závěr porovnány a diskutovány.

Abstract:

The aim of this diploma thesis was to compare electrochemical properties and application possibilities of boron-doped diamond electrodes with different boron content. Electrochemical properties were studied mainly by cyclic voltammetry of reversible redox markers [Fe(CN)6]3-/4- and [Ru(NH3)6]3+/2+. Leukovorin, a drug used for a treatment of various types of cancer, was chosen as an analyte for the comparison of practical applicability of the investigated electrodes. Within the thesis, analytical method of its determination was developed using commercially available boron-doped diamond electrode at first and was subsequently applied to the tested electrodes. The obtained results were finally compared and discussed.
