Licenses Creative Commons and its potencial use in libraries

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce „Licence Creative Commons a možnosti jejich využití pro knihovny“ se zabývá problematikou využití licencí Creative Commons v knihovnách. V první části jsou čtenáři seznámeni s vývojem autorského práva, především pak ve Spojených státech amerických. V další kapitole jsou představeny licence Creative Commons (CC). Je zmíněno z jakého důvodu a kdy licence Creative Commons vznikly, následuje popis jejich charakteristických vlastností, výčet typů a vrstev licencí. Třetí část se zaměřuje na aplikaci licencí na autorská díla v prostředí Internetu, která zároveň souvisí se schopností vyhledávačů tato díla nacházet. Licence Creative Commons byly implementovány do autorskoprávního systému České republiky a v této práci je uvedeno, co všechno tento proces obnášel. V poslední kapitole je vysvětleno, jaké postavení mají knihovny v autorském zákoně České republiky, což je důležité pro stanovení možností, které licence Creative Commons českým knihovnám přinášejí. Tyto možnosti jsou nejdříve ukázány na příkladech dvou zahraničních knihoven.

Abstract:

My bachelor work, which is called „Licenses Creative Commons and it`s potencial use in libraries“ is dealing with usage of Creative Commons in libraries. In the first part of this work is examined evolution of copyright law, especially in the United States of America. The next part presents Creative Commons (CC). There are the reasons for Creative Commons licenses formation, followed by a description of their characteristic, list of types and layer. The third part is focused on the application of CC licenses to the works in Internet, which also relate with ability of search engines to find these works. In my work I describe process of implementation CC licenses to the Czech jurisdiction. The last part is dedicated to copyright and libraries. The last part also attempts to determine the possibilities of usage CC licenses in the libraries (showed in the examples of two foreign libraries).
