Interaction of ferrates with dissolved arsenic

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá studiem interakcí ferrátů s AsIII a nZVI s AsV. Cílem práce bylo v laboratorních experimentálních podmínkách studovat vliv ferrátů a nulmocného železa na koncentraci AsIII a AsV v roztocích. V úvodní části jsou zpracované již známé poznatky o vlastnostech arsenu, ferrátů a nZVI a jejich chování a specie v přírodě ve vodním prostředí.V experimentální části bylo provedeno několik sérií pokusů. Ve dvou sériích byla použita směs ferrátů (K3FeO4, KFeO2), v třetí sérii bylo použita suspenze Fe0 (Nanofer 25). Oba produkty byly poskytnuty od společnosti NANO IRON, s.r.o. Po celou dobu experimentů, trvajících 140 dní, byly v různých časových intervalech odebírány vzorky na AAS a měřeny hodnoty pH, Eh, elektrické konduktivity a teploty. Naměřené hodnoty byly zaznamenány do grafů a bylo provedeno modelování v programu GWB. V závislosti na vyhodnocení chemických analýz a geochemickém modelování bylo zjištěno, že účinnost ferrátů závisí na pH a účinnost nZVI pravděpodobně závisí na množství aplikovaného Fe0 do roztoku obsahující rozpuštěný arsen.

Abstract:

This work studies the interaction between Ferrates and these coumpounds: AsIII, nZVI, AsV. The goal of this work was to study the effect of Ferrates and zero-valent iron on concentration of AsII, AsV in solutions, in experimental conditions in the laboratory. The first part deals with the already known knowledge about the properties of arsenic, Ferrates and nZVI and their behavior and species in the wild in the aquatic environment. In the experimental part were carried out several series of experiments. In first two series was used a mixture of Ferrates (K3FeO4, KFeO2) in the third was used suspension of Fe0 (Nanofer 25). Both products were provided from NANO IRON, s.r.o. Throughout the experiments, with a duration of 140 days, there were at different time intervals taken samples for AAS and measured values of pH, Eh, electrical conductivity and temperature. The measured values were recorded in graphs and modeling was done in the GWB program. Depending on the evaluation of the chemical analyzes and geochemical modeling, it was found that the efficiency of Ferrates depends on pH and efficiency nZVI propably depends on the amounts of Fe0 applied to a solution containing dissolved arsenic.
