Complex Restoration Treatment of an Old Wenceslas Bible Print

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá komplexním restaurátorským zásahem na starém tisku Svatováclavské bible z let 1769-1771. Jedná se o celousňovou barokní vazbu s místem uložení v Muzeu jihovýchodní Moravy ve Zlíně. K restaurátorského zásahu bylo přistoupeno z důvodu výrazného poškození knižního bloku a vazby. Bakalářská práce sestává z podrobné restaurátorské dokumentace. První kapitoly jsou zaměřeny na kulturně-historické zařazení díla a jeho typologický popis včetně záznamu poškození. Následovány jsou restaurátorským záměrem a samotným postupem restaurování. Následuje soupis použitých materiálů a doporučené podmínky uložení a vystavování díla. Celá práce je doplněna přílohami rozdělenými na textové, grafické, obrazové a fotografické.

Abstract:

This work deals with a complex restoration treatment of the old print of the Wenceslas Bible from the years 1769-1771. It is a leather Baroque bookbinding which is placed in the Muzeum jihovýchodní Moravy (The Museum of South-East Moravia), Zlín. The restoration intervention was carried out due to significant damage to the book block and binding. The bachelor thesis consists of detailed restoration documentation. The first chapters focus on the cultural and historical classification of the work and its typological description, including the damage record. They are followed by the restoration plan and the restoration process itself. The next part contains a list of the materials used and recommended storage and display conditions. The whole work is supplemented with text, graphic, image and photographic appendices.
