The Word-formative Analysis of Hypocorisms from the Private Correspondence Corpus

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá hypokoristiky jako specifickým druhem antroponym. Hypokoristikum je expresivní obměna rodného jména užívána v neoficiálním prostředím. Materiálovým zdrojem pro výzkum se stal registr rodných jmen a hypokoristik z Korpusu soukromé korespondence (KSK). Hlavní část práce se věnuje slovotvorné analýze hypokoristik a rozboru slovotvorných postupů a prostředků. Formou seznamu slovotvorných typů popisuje současné tendence tvorby hypokoristik, součástí práce jsou dále frekvenční přehledy a retrográdní slovník hypokoristik.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with hypocorism as a particular sort of antroponyms. Hypocorism is an expressive modification of first names that is used familiarly. The register of first names and hypocorisms from Corpus of private correspondence (KSK) became the source material for this research. The main part of the work deals with word-forming analysis of hypocorisms together with an analysis of word-forming techniques and resources. This thesis describes current tendencies in formation of hypocorisms through a list of word-forming types. Frequency abstracts and a reverse dictionary of hypocorism create another part of my thesis.
