The Meaning and Symbolism of Colors in the Middle Ages
Abstract:
Bakalářská diplomová práce „Význam a symbolika barev ve středověku“ se zabývá barvou jako neodmyslitelnou součástí malířství, sochařství a literatury ve středověku. Snaží se objasnit význam barvy jako důležité komponenty nejen středověkého umění a kultury, ale také její roli jako symbolu v životě středověkého člověka.
Abstract:
The bachelor's thesis "The meaning and symbolism of colors in the Middle Ages" concentrates on color as an essential part of painting, sculpture and literature in the Middle Ages. It seeks to clarify the meaning of color as an important component not only in the medieval art and culture, but also its role as a symbol in the life of medieval man.
