The influence of experience on the perception of safety and crime in Brno

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá sekundární analýzou na téma vnímání bezpečí a kriminality ve městě Brně. Vnímání bezpečí patří k jednomu z důležitých konceptů určujících žitou zkušenost člověka (nejen) ve městě. Zasahuje a přesahuje každého z nás, avšak není jednoduché určit, co všechno se do vnímání bezpečí promítá. Mým cílem je v praktické části popsat důležité teoretické rámce a faktory, které nám pomáhají lépe pochopit komplexnost této problematiky. V analytické části je poté využiji ke zjištění, zda tyto faktory a rámce mají vliv i na brněnskou populaci. V závěru práce reflektuji své výsledky a navrhuji možnou navazující analýzu.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with secondary analysis on the topic of perception of safety and criminality in the city of Brno. Perception of safety is one of the important concepts determining a person's lived experience (not only) in the city. It reaches and transcends each of us, but it is not an easy task to describe all its determinants. In the theoretical part, my goal is to delineate important theoretical frameworks and factors that help us to to better understand the complexity of this topic.In the analytical part, I use those frameworks and factors to find out if they also affect the population in Brno. At the end of the thesis, I reflect on my results and suggest a possible follow-up analysis.
