Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce se věnuje obrazovým mapám, kartografickému žánru, který není v současnosti příliš diskutovaným tématem. Práce si klade za cíl na základě rešerše dostupných odborných prací i existujících mapových děl vytvořit ucelený pohled na tuto tematiku: vytvořit definici pojmu obrazová mapa, krátce nastínit historický vývoj tohoto žánru, zformulovat zásady a aspekty tvorby obrazové mapy. Nabyté informace jsou v empirické části práce aplikovány při tvorbě vlastní mapy. Vzniklá mapa byla použita k dotazníkovému šetření a zkoumá uživatelské návyky, výhody a nevýhody plynoucí ze specifického vyjádření geografické informace.

Abstract:

The presented diploma thesis deals with pictorial maps, a cartographic genre, which is not often discussed topic these days. The thesis aims to create a comprehensive view of this topic on the basis of a research of available professional works and existing map works: to create a definition of the term pictorial map, briefly outline the historical development of this genre, formulate principles and aspects of pictorial map creation. The information acquired from previous research is applied in the empirical part of the thesis when creating own map. The created map was used to carry a questionnaire survey to examine user habits, advantages and disadvantages resulting from the specific expression of geographical information.
