Electoral success of the extreme right parties and the development of economies at NUTS2 level

Abstract:

The goal of the submitted thesis: “The success of far-right political parties and economic development by NUTS 2” is to create an econometric model, that analyzes the influence od economic and instrumental variables on the success of the far-right political parties in the election. The first part is focusing on defining the far right and summarizing of the theories that aim at explaining the motives of far-right voters. In the second part I am defining the variables that are used in the model, and the reasons for choosing these particular variables. Finally, I will construct the econometric model itself and interpret its outcomes. Based on the results of the model I will identify, which theory is applicable on the behavior of the voter in the examined period of time.

Abstract:

Predmetom bakalárskej práce ,,Vplyv ekonomickej úrovne na úspěch krajne pravicových strán vo volbách, na úrovni NUTS 2“ je vytvorenie ekonometrického modelu, ktorý bude skúmať vplyvy ekonomických a inštumentálnych premenných na úspěch krajne pravicových strán vo volbách. Prvá časť je zameraná na definíciu krajnej pravice a súhrn teórií, ktoré sa snažia o vysvetlenie motívov jej voličov. V druhej časti vymedzujem premenné, ktoré budú použité v modeli, a dôvody výberu daných premenných. V poslednej časti potom pristupujem k samotnému zostrojeniu ekonometrického modelu, a interpretácii výsledkov modelu. Na základe výsledkov modelu určím, ktorá teória je aplikovatelná na správanie voličov v sledovanom období.
