Physical therapy for an adult subject after whiplash injury: case report

Abstract:

Whiplash is a traumatic event unfortunately very common when it comes to road accidents, caused by a sudden head movement that exceeds the physiological limits of joint excursion and that gives rise to a series of disorders and alterations, mostly musculoskeletal and nerve, in the cervical and often brachial area. The objective of this work will be to analyze the clinical case of a patient who has suffered this trauma and to carry out an adequate treatment. The results and conclusions will be discussed in the paper.

Abstract:

Il colpo di frusta ? un evento traumatico purtroppo molto comune quando si parla di incidenti stradali, causato da un brusco movimento del capo che supera i limiti fisiologici di escursione articolare e che d? origine ad una serie di disturbi e alterazioni, perlopi? muscolo-scheletriche e nervose, in sede cervicale e spesso anche brachiale. L'obiettivo di questo lavoro sar? quello di analizzare il caso clinico di un paziente che ha subito questo trauma e di effettuare un trattamento adeguato. I risultati e le conclusioni verranno discusse nell'elaborato.
