Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je prozkoumat složitosti lásky, které jsou vyobrazeny v Shakespearově komedii A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Hlavním zdrojem této práce je publikace zmíněné hry, vydaná v roce 2010, která nese název “Sen Čarovné Noci”, a jejímž autorem je překladatel Jiří Josek. V úvodní části, jsou poskytnuty informace o struktuře práce. Teoretická část obsahuje základní informace o Shakespearově hře A Midsummer Night’s Dream, zvláště pak o době a okolnostech jejího vzniku, o názvu hry, o jednotlivých postavách hry a ději hry. Následně jsou specifikovány jednotlivé milenecké páry, různé charakteristiky lásky, které lze ve hře zaznamenat, a módy lásky. Teoretická cast je uzavřena analýzou, která zkoumá akademické texty autorů, jež se obdobnou problematikou zabývají. Praktická část se věnuje výzkumu, jehož hlavním cílem je, nalézt odpovědi na následující otázky: Jaké jsou hlavní rysy lásky zaznamenatelné ve zmíněné Shakesparově hře?; Lze ve hře nalézt autokratickou koncepci lásky?; Je sen pouze snem, či hraje důležitou roli v této hře a pro životy milenců? Analýza dokládá důkazy v podobě citací, vyňatých z Joskova překladu hry, a souběžně pracuje s akademickými zdroji, které obsahují informace, týkající se jednotlivých zkoumaných otázek. Závěrečná část je zaměřena na vyhodnocení získaných výstupů analytické části.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to explore the complexity of love pictured in Shakespeare’s comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Main focus of the work is on Jiří Josek’s translation of the play “Sen Čarovné Noci” (Josek 2010). The introductory part provides general information concerning the consctruction of the thesis. Theoretical part of the work introduces Shakespeare’s play A Midsummer Night’s Dream, its period and context of creation, title, characters and plot. Also, lovers and different features of love and love modes are specified. The last section informs on scholarhip concerning the topic. The practical part of the thesis is deducted to seek answers to three set research questions: What are major features of love in the play?; Is autocratic approach to love visible in the play?; Is dream only a dream or does it play a conscious role in the play and for the lovers’ lives? The analysis provides evidence in the texts extracted from Josek’s translation of the play and it deals with academic sources including relevant information related to each of the theses.
